OVERVIEW
The following Privacy Policy does govern contributing visitors to the TownLuxe service provided by Serra Media for Go Local Tacoma at the web site www.GoLocalTacoma.com. It supersedes the standard Go Local Tacoma Privacy Policy, but only for web pages and services offered as part of the TownLuxe service.
Visitors to the TownLuxe service on any Go Local Tacoma web site who attempt to submit content will be required to register an account. An email address and a password are the minimum requirements to create a user account on the service. Users will be “active” immediately and able to upload content, comment or rate other submitted content (Go Local Tacoma has full discretion on the types and amounts of interaction it allows on the TownLuxe service).
This Privacy Policy includes all guidelines applicable to the information provided by users to the TownLuxe service.
INFORMATION
Serra Media collects only the information that is needed to process registrations and to allow use of the system. Serra Media will not share, rent, lend, or sell this information to anyone, unless you specifically opt-in to a future opportunity we have yet to offer. No user information is shared or disclosed as described above without user acceptance except when it is required by law.
Serra Media reserves the right to transfer personal information in case of acquisition of the TownLuxe service or any part of it by another company.
COOKIES and JAVASCRIPT
Serra Media will set and access its own cookies on your computer to allow you to interact with the site. You will not be able to log in, post content, links, photos or comments if you have disabled cookies and/or Javascript in your web browser.
NEWSLETTERS and EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE
Go Local Tacoma and/or Serra Media will communicate with registered users via email on a sporadic basis, not to exceed six (6) messages per calendar year. We will send only relevant bulletins about the service and you may opt out at any time through the Contact Us page. The email messages will contain helpful information designed to assist you in getting the most out of our service. The messages will be easy on the inbox – just light text and a simple image or two. And there will be no commercial pitches or offers to buy anything. Really.
“PHISHING” and IDENTITY THEFT
Serra Media or Go Local Tacoma will never send you an email asking you to send us personal, financial, or credit card information. If you receive such an email, DO NOT RESPOND. It did not originate with Serra Media or Go Local Tacoma.
Sometimes, these emails may look like official communications and may ask you to provide this information to “confirm your account.” These so-called “phishing” expeditions are usually attempts to steal your identity and defraud you.
If you receive such a message from either Serra Media or Go Local Tacoma, please forward it to support@serramedia.com so we can take appropriate action.
SECURITY
Serra Media takes many precautions to protect our visitors' information, including physical, technical, and administrative measures intended to prevent unauthorized access to, or use of, personally identifiable visitor information.
LINKS
The TownLuxe service contains links to other sites that may be of interest to visitors. However, Serra Media is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our visitors to be aware when they leave the TownLuxe site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information.
